Actor Niño Muhlach struggled to hold back tears as he recounted the harrowing ordeal his son, Sandro, faced due to sexual harassment charges against two GMA independent contractors.

Niño, a prominent figure from the well-known Muhlach clan, shared with the Senate his deep anguish and concern over his son's recent traumatic experience. He spoke candidly about his parenting journey, revealing how he had always strived to be a good father, despite his personal flaws.

"I may not have been the perfect husband," Niño admitted. "But I can proudly say that I've done my best to be a good father. We taught our children to be respectful and well-mannered. When Sandro expressed his desire to enter showbiz, I told him, 'Go ahead, but I won’t help you.' I didn’t pull any strings or make any calls. I was surprised when he told me he got accepted into Sparkle."

Niño expressed immense pride in Sandro’s dedication to his craft, noting how he, like many others, started from the bottom. "Even though he has a car now, he still takes the service for tapings to avoid special treatment. That’s how humble he is, and that’s how much he loves his job."

However, Niño's pride turned to heartbreak as he described Sandro’s emotional state while recounting the harassment he endured. "I was devastated when he told me about what happened. He was trembling and barely able to hold his phone. Especially since Jojo Nones, one of our esteemed colleagues and someone I deeply respect, was involved. I couldn’t believe that he could do this to my son."

Niño revealed that Sandro had initially confided in his brother, Alonzo Muhlach, who advised him to stay strong. "It was painful to learn that Sandro first told his brother, hoping he wouldn’t face the same fate. It’s heart-wrenching to think that such things can happen to a family that has significantly contributed to the industry."

He also expressed frustration over the situation being twisted, with some individuals allegedly trying to shift the blame. "It’s upsetting that those at fault are now trying to turn the tables and distort the truth. It’s disheartening to see the story being manipulated by those responsible."

Niño’s heartfelt testimony highlights the emotional toll on families affected by such issues and underscores the need for justice and accountability.
