If you frequently drive along the NLEX-SLEX Connector Road, here’s some important news: updated toll rates are set to take effect on October 15, 2024. NLEX Corporation is rolling out these changes for Sections 1 and 2 of the connector road, following the go-signal from the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB).

What’s Changing?

The new rates cover the 6.94-kilometer stretch of the NLEX-SLEX Connector Road, which features a barrierless toll collection system. The goal is to make your trip smoother and faster, but it does come with a bit of an increase in toll fees. Here’s a breakdown of the updated fractional opening base toll rates:

- Class 1 vehicles (cars, SUVs): From the current rate of ₱86, it’s going up to ₱119.
- Class 2 vehicles (buses, light trucks): The fee will jump from ₱215 to ₱299.
- Class 3 vehicles (heavy trucks): Expect the rate to rise from ₱302 to ₱418.

Why the Increase?

The changes come nearly a year after the initial fractional toll rates were introduced for Section 1 (C3 to España, 5.10 km) back in August 2023. NLEX Corp. had since opened another stretch of the road in October 2023, extending it by 1.84 kilometers from España to R. Magsaysay, without immediately collecting additional fees for this new section. Now, after meeting all the regulatory requirements, the company is ready to implement the updated rates.

Making Travel Easier—And Faster

The good news is that this connector road is designed with convenience in mind. With the pilot testing of a barrierless toll collection system, you won’t have to deal with stopping at toll plazas, making for a more seamless driving experience. Around 14,500 vehicles use this connector daily, benefiting from quicker travel times and reduced congestion.
