Vice President Sara Duterte, also serving as the Education Secretary, announced that no punitive action will be taken against the teacher who went viral for reprimanding her students while live on TikTok.

Duterte said "My initial reaction is that the teacher is human. We all reach points of frustration and anger. This is especially true for teachers, as they are not just talking to one person but to a class of 25-45, sometimes 55 students."

She further mentioned instructing the Department of Education's regional office to remind the teacher to pause class if she feels angry to gather her thoughts.

"I saw her explanation, and I instructed the regional office that there will be no penalties for the teacher. Just remind her that if she's angry, she has to pause the class, and if she's not angry anymore, then she can resume teaching," Duterte added.

When asked why the teacher was livestreaming while scolding the students, the secretary said, "She said she didn't realize she was online."
