No Stamps, No Exit: Alice Guo's Passport Sparks Questions On Immigration Oversight

It seems like Alice Guo managed to slip through the cracks. The Bureau of Immigration (BI) revealed on Monday that there were no Philippine immigration stamps in Guo's passport, raising concerns about how she left the country without the usual clearance.

BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco shared that a thorough check of Guo's passport was done as soon as she arrived in the country on September 6. Interestingly, despite being a valid Philippine passport issued in 2020 and good until 2030, it didn't contain any Philippine immigration stamps. This unusual discovery hints that Guo may have left the Philippines illegally, bypassing standard immigration checks.

What makes this even more curious is that her alleged sister, Shiela, also has a similar passport situation. "Both passports show no Philippine immigration stamps, suggesting they exited the country without undergoing the proper procedures," Tansingco explained.

Aside from this revelation, Tansingco addressed the recent buzz surrounding photos of BI agents during Guo's arrest. The images sparked some criticism online, but the commissioner was quick to clarify, saying the agents were merely relieved and happy after successfully completing the operation. "There was no disrespect intended," he assured, adding that the BI remains committed to professionalism.
