In a significant shake-up in Bamban, Tarlac, the Office of the Ombudsman has officially ordered the removal of Alice Guo from her position as mayor.

This comes after a thorough investigation found Guo guilty of Grave Misconduct, as detailed in a 25-page decision released by the Ombudsman.

The decision not only removes Guo from office but also permanently disqualifies her from running for any government position in the future.

This ruling effectively ends her political career and bars her from re-entering public service.

The case centers around Guo's involvement in the issuance of a Letter of No Objection for a company named Hongsheng, which was later revealed to be a non-existent entity at the time.

The former Mayor of Bamban, Jose Antonio Feliciano, is also mentioned in the decision.

The Ombudsman expressed confusion as to why no charges were filed against Feliciano, despite his role in accommodating Guo’s requests regarding Hongsheng.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has been urged to investigate Feliciano further to determine if charges should be brought against him.

In addition to Guo’s dismissal, several other officials from Bamban were found guilty of Conduct Prejudicial to the Best Interest of the Service.

These individuals, including Edwin Campo, Adenn Sigua, and others, have been handed a three-month suspension as part of the penalties.
