In a recent statement, IDF Spokesperson RAdm. Daniel Hagari delivered a clear message about Israel's ongoing military operations in Gaza: "Our war is with Hamas, not the people of Gaza. We mean it." This declaration came in the wake of Yahya Sinwar's elimination, the Hamas leader held responsible for the horrific October 7 attacks.

Sinwar, who orchestrated the brutal assault that saw terrorists cross into Israel, massacre civilians, burn families alive, and take over 250 hostages, was a marked man. "He tried to escape justice for the past year, but he failed. We said we would find him and bring him to justice, and we did," Hagari announced. The operation represents a major milestone in Israel's ongoing military efforts, but Hagari stressed that the mission is far from over.

"Our work is not done. We will not rest until we bring home all our hostages by any means," he emphasized, noting that 101 people are still being held captive under harsh conditions. The elimination of Sinwar, described as the mastermind behind the most brutal attack in Israel's history, is seen as a significant step towards justice for the victims.

Despite the ongoing conflict, Hagari reaffirmed Israel's stance that its battle is not against the civilians of Gaza. "We are working to increase the amount of humanitarian aid, including food, water, and medicine, that goes into Gaza," he said, highlighting efforts to mitigate the humanitarian impact on the local population while continuing military operations aimed at Hamas.

The statement underscores Israel's commitment to its dual objectives: dismantling the Hamas network responsible for acts of terror and upholding the safety and well-being of innocent civilians in Gaza.
