Pasig City’s Elite Police Operatives successfully apprehended a suspect in a deadly shooting that occurred on the evening of October 28, 2024, in Barangay Sagad, Pasig City. Under the leadership of PCOL Hendrix B. Mangaldan, Acting Chief of Police, officers executed a rapid and thorough investigation that led them to the suspect, identified only as "John," by early morning the next day.

According to initial reports, the incident unfolded around 7:26 PM when the suspect and the victim, known as "Lynell," engaged in a conversation along Feliciano Street that quickly escalated. Witnesses shared that the suspect allegedly pursued Lynell, pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots at the victim’s back as he tried to leave, resulting in Lynell's immediate death.

Pasig’s police force acted without delay, deploying a special investigation team that launched a hot pursuit operation. Their determined efforts paid off at around 6:15 AM on October 29, when they successfully located and arrested the suspect at a local hotel. During the arrest, officers confiscated a .45-caliber firearm with an altered serial number, loaded with four rounds—identified as the weapon allegedly used in the shooting.

The suspect was taken into custody, informed of his rights in his native dialect, and later brought to the Rizal Medical Center in Pasig City for a medical examination. Authorities are now preparing murder charges under the Revised Penal Code and firearm-related charges under Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) against him, with the case soon to be presented for inquest at the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office.
