In a dedicated effort to address the aftermath of the recent eruption of Kanlaon Volcano, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has pledged unwavering government assistance to all affected residents.

Employing a comprehensive whole-of-government approach, President Marcos emphasized the commitment of key agencies, including the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in ensuring public welfare and providing immediate aid.

In a video address shortly after PHIVOLCS raised Alert Level 2 following Monday evening's explosive eruption, President Marcos underscored the proactive measures taken to safeguard residents' safety. With approximately 170 families, comprising 796 individuals, directly impacted by the volcanic activity, the President affirmed swift evacuation protocols, relocating affected individuals to designated shelters.

President Marcos revealed that essential assistance has already been extended to affected residents, including the distribution of sleeping kits in La Castellana and the prepositioning of 13,000 family food packs in Negros Island. Additionally, preparations are underway for the arrival of an additional 40,000 food packs and various non-food items to bolster relief efforts.
