President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. proudly declared that the inauguration of the P8.3-billion Panguil Bay Bridge is a symbol of the Philippines' strength and determination to build critical infrastructure for its people. Speaking at the bridge's opening on Friday, the President emphasized the long journey and challenges overcome to finally complete the project.

“From the 1998 pre-feasibility study conducted on the bridge to the moment it broke ground in 2018, this bridge encountered very many challenges,” the President said, reflecting on the decades-long effort to bring the project to life.

The bridge significantly reduces travel time from Tangub City, Misamis Occidental to Tubod, Lanao del Norte—cutting the journey from over two hours to just seven minutes. This key infrastructure will benefit more than 10,000 travelers daily.

Despite delays caused by the pandemic and funding issues, President Marcos praised the resilience of the government, its partners, and stakeholders. “Pero hindi tayo nagpapatinag nang basta-basta,” he said, underscoring the relentless efforts to complete the project.

The Panguil Bay Bridge stands as a symbol of hope and progress, reflecting the nation’s determination to push through obstacles for the betterment of its people.
