In a significant move aimed at recognizing the unwavering dedication of educators, President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. signed into law the Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act on Monday. This legislation, which promises a higher yearly allowance for mentors, signifies a poignant acknowledgment of the sacrifices made by teachers throughout the years.

President Marcos emphasized that the enactment of this law is a pivotal step towards alleviating the personal financial strains borne by teachers, who often dip into their own pockets for classroom necessities. "For decades, they have willingly taken on the burden of having to spend their own money on classroom supplies to aid them in teaching," remarked President Marcos.

Expressing admiration for the profound love and commitment exhibited by educators, the President underscored the significance of easing the burdens they carry daily. "It must take an incredible amount of love to sacrifice what little you have for the sake of your students despite having financial worries of your own," he added.

Addressing attendees at the ceremonial signing of the Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act, President Marcos commended teachers for their wholehearted dedication to their profession and responsibilities. He extended gratitude to the House of Representatives and the Senate for their concerted efforts in ushering the bill into law.

"We listened, we persevered, and we took action," asserted President Marcos, emphasizing the collective responsibility shared by lawmakers in championing the welfare of educators. Urging continued collaboration in legislative endeavors, he implored members of both Houses of Congress to prioritize proactive measures that enhance the lives of Filipino citizens.

Concluding his address, President Marcos reiterated the imperative of building a progressive nation where the needs of the people are paramount. "Let us continue to write and pass these laws based on foresight, not on reaction. Continue building the foundations of a Bagong Pilipinas – a nation where people’s needs are attended to so that they can focus on doing what is best for themselves, and for their families, and for their communities, and thereby for their country," he affirmed.
