The Philippine Air Force (PAF) and the U.S. Pacific Air Forces conducted a Combined Air Patrol as part of the ongoing 3rd Maritime Cooperative Activity (MCA) within the Philippine Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

The operation, marking Phase 2 of the MCA, encompassed areas located 90 nautical miles west of Candon, Ilocos Sur, and 50 nautical miles northwest of Lubang, Mindoro. The collaboration involved the deployment of three (3) FA-50s from the Philippine Air Force, working in conjunction with one (1) B-52H bomber aircraft provided by their U.S. counterparts.

The primary objective of this joint effort is to enhance cooperation and interoperability between the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the U.S. military. The Combined Air Patrol serves as a testament to the commitment of both nations in maintaining regional peace and security.

The Philippine Air Force reiterated its dedication to supporting the AFP's initiatives in safeguarding national territory and sovereign rights. The joint operation is seen as a proactive measure to address potential security challenges within the Philippine EEZ, demonstrating the preparedness of both air forces to respond to evolving threats.

This collaborative effort aligns with the broader strategic partnership between the Philippines and the United States, fostering mutual trust and reinforcing the bonds between the two nations. The Combined Air Patrol underscores the significance of international cooperation in addressing common security concerns and upholding the stability of the region.

The successful completion of Phase 2 of the 3rd Maritime Cooperative Activity reflects the continued commitment of both the Philippine and U.S. Air Forces to work together in safeguarding maritime domains and promoting regional stability.
