Philippines Among The Lowest Performers In PISA 2022 Creative Thinking Assessment
FILE
The Philippines is among the lowest-performing countries in the PISA 2022 assessment of creative thinking, which evaluates 15-year-old students' ability to generate, evaluate, and improve diverse and original ideas.

According to the OECD report, the Philippines, alongside Albania, Uzbekistan, Morocco, and the Dominican Republic, scored significantly below the OECD average of 33 points.

The results underscore substantial gaps between the top and bottom performers, with countries like Singapore, Korea, and Canada achieving average scores of 36 points or above.

In contrast, Filipino students lag behind in their capacity to think creatively across various tasks, highlighting a critical area for educational improvement.

The PISA data suggests that while many OECD countries excel in fostering creativity through supportive educational environments and engaging classroom activities, the Philippines faces challenges in cultivating these essential skills.

Addressing these gaps is crucial for enhancing students' overall problem-solving abilities and preparing them for complex, real-world situations.
