In a significant step towards bolstering bilateral defense relations, Secretary of National Defense Gilberto C. Teodoro, Jr. and AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner, Jr. warmly received General Charles Q. Brown, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, at the Department of National Defense (DND).

The meeting underscored the Philippines' and the United States' shared commitment to enhancing mutual defense interests. Secretary Teodoro highlighted the DND's steadfast support for the discussions between Generals Brown and Brawner. These discussions are pivotal as both nations seek to fortify their longstanding partnership amid evolving global security challenges.

Reflecting on recent talks with US Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III, Secretary Teodoro reiterated the critical role of sustained cooperation between the defense establishments of both countries. This ongoing dialogue aims to strengthen defense capabilities, promote regional stability, and ensure collective security in the Asia-Pacific region.
