The Philippines is making waves on the global stage, climbing three spots to 49th in the Government Efficiency category of the 2024 World Competitiveness Report by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD). The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) proudly announced this achievement on Monday, highlighting the country’s ongoing commitment to streamlining and digitalizing government services.

In a statement, ARTA said, “The Philippines proudly climbs three spots in Government Efficiency, ranking 49th in the 2024 World Competitiveness Report by the International Institute for Management Development!”

This notable jump underscores the government's dedication to making the Philippines a more competitive and business-friendly environment. ARTA, the nation's anti-red tape regulator, has been instrumental in this progress by pushing for innovation and improved regulatory practices across various government agencies and local government units (LGUs).

“We remain committed to streamlining and digitalizing government services for a more competitive and business-friendly Bagong Pilipinas,” ARTA emphasized.

The IMD, which created the World Competitiveness Ranking 36 years ago, recognizes the essential role of government efficiency in fostering sustainable value creation for private enterprises. This year's report, released in June, covers 67 global economies, providing a comprehensive benchmark on economic competitiveness.

The improved ranking is a testament to ARTA’s mandate to transform government service delivery through a whole-of-nation approach. By supporting President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s call for enhanced ease of doing business, ARTA aims to attract more investments to the Philippines.

With this milestone, the Philippines is poised to continue its upward trajectory, fostering a more efficient, transparent, and business-friendly environment for all.
