PISTON Group And Manibela Unveil Plans For Tigil Pasada On April 15

The Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide (Piston) and Manibela Tigil Pasada announced their intention to launch protests on April 15 in response to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s stance on Jeepney franchise extensions.
The decision to hold a Tigil Pasada stems from the groups' resolve to defend their livelihoods against government pressure to modernize. With a history of resisting similar measures since 2017, they are mobilizing drivers, operators, and commuters to participate in a unified demonstration.
Mar Valbuena of Manibela emphasizes the importance of solidarity in opposing the looming franchise deadline and demands the restoration of the five-year validity of their permits.
