PNP Chief To Ret. Gen. Villanueva: 'Name Names!' Amid Allegations Of Payola Involving A Former PNP Chief

It seems like there's some serious digging going on within the Philippine National Police (PNP). Retired General Raul Villanueva, who now serves as the Senior VP of PAGCOR’s Security and Monitoring Cluster, has dropped a bombshell. He claimed that a former PNP chief was allegedly pocketing payola and even helped Chinese national Alice Guo escape from the country. And, of course, the current PNP leadership is not taking this lightly.

PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Marbil has confirmed that they’re on it and that the investigation will cover 24 living former PNP chiefs. That’s quite the list, but Marbil isn’t thrilled about the idea of going after all of them without specific details. Instead, he’s urging Villanueva to go ahead and name names. According to him, it would make things a lot simpler and faster if the retired general would just say who’s involved.

It doesn’t stop there, though. Marbil also promised to track down every single person who had a hand in Guo’s escape, ensuring that no one, regardless of rank or status, will be spared from the investigation. So, it looks like there’s going to be more to this story in the days to come. All eyes are now on Villanueva – will he reveal the former PNP chief allegedly involved in the payola?
