PNP Gears Up For Traslacion 2024
File
In preparation for the upcoming Traslacion or the Feast of the Black Nazarene, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. has announced plans to deploy a massive contingent of 13,691 police officers and personnel to ensure the safety and security of the anticipated 2.5 million attendees.

Acorda stated on Tuesday that the deployment strategy is based on current estimates, acknowledging that the attendance figure may fluctuate. The PNP will also deploy K9 units to enhance security measures during the religious procession.

Acorda reminds the public of specific prohibitions. Upon discussions with the Quiapo church, attendees will be restricted from bringing backpacks into controlled areas, emphasizing the use of transparent bags instead. Additionally, bullcaps and umbrellas will be prohibited, along with transparent liquid containers as part of the safety protocols.

The PNP chief also warned that cell signals might experience disruptions during the event. Attendees are reminded to manage expectations and encouraged to plan accordingly, minimizing potential inconveniences related to communication.
