The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has successfully deported American national Lee O'Brian, the former partner of Filipino comedian Marietta Subong, better known as Pokwang. This action comes in response to a deportation case filed by Subong last year, citing O'Brian's engagement in work activities without proper permits.

Subong's complaint highlighted O'Brian's involvement in various production ventures without obtaining the necessary permits from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the BI. Following thorough investigation, the BI upheld the validity of the complaint, leading to O'Brian's deportation in December for violating the terms of his stay in the Philippines.

Despite filing a motion for reconsideration, O'Brian's plea was eventually denied by the BI. Consequently, BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco confirmed O'Brian's deportation, stating that he was flown out of the country on the evening of April 8 aboard a Philippine Airlines flight bound for San Francisco.

Furthermore, O'Brian has been placed on the BI's blacklist, effectively prohibiting any future attempts to enter the Philippines.
