Acting Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cesar Chavez has confirmed that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has officially approved the dismissal of Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco. The decision comes on the heels of a controversial incident involving the illegal departure of former Bamban Mayor Alice Guo from the country.

Chavez shared that the Department of Justice (DOJ) will provide further details about the circumstances surrounding Tansingco's removal. However, he emphasized that this decision is closely linked to the mishandling of Guo's exit, which raised serious concerns at the highest levels of government.

The acting PCO Secretary made it clear that this move is part of President Marcos' broader commitment to ensuring accountability within the government. "Heads will roll," he reiterated, especially when it comes to presidential appointees who fail to meet the expectations and mandates set by the President.

This latest development sends a strong message that the Marcos administration will not hesitate to take decisive action against officials who do not uphold the standards of their positions, particularly in matters as critical as immigration and national security. The President's approval of Tansingco's dismissal underscores the seriousness with which the administration is addressing these issues.
