FILE
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. made it clear: there's no turning back on the Public Transport Modernization Program (PTMP). Previously known as the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP), this initiative has faced its fair share of delays and debates. But according to President Marcos, it’s time to move forward.

"Iisipin mo din because sinasabi nila minadali. This has been postponed seven times," Marcos explained, addressing concerns about the program's implementation pace. "The modernization has been postponed seven times."

The President emphasized that those calling for further delays are in the minority. "80 percent have already consolidated. So papaano naman yong 20 percent ang mag de-decide. yung buhay ng 100 percent? So pakinggan natin yong Majority at ang majority sinasabi ituloy natin. So that's what we do," he stated.

In simpler terms, President Marcos believes that with 80% of public transport operators already on board, it wouldn’t be fair to let the 20% hold back the progress needed for the entire system. He stressed the importance of listening to the majority, who are ready to move forward with modernization.
