Preventive Suspension Issued Against Bohol Gov Over Chocolate Hills Resort Case

The Ombudsman has issued a significant decision, placing Bohol Governor Erico Aris Aumentado and several provincial officials under a six-month preventive suspension.
The move, announced by Governor Aumentado on Tuesday, May 28, comes as a result of ongoing cases related to the controversial resort development in the iconic Chocolate Hills area.
In his statement, Governor Aumentado urged his fellow colleagues in the provincial government to maintain professionalism and dedication to their duties during his absence.
He emphasized the importance of upholding their commitments to the people of Bohol, despite facing significant challenges at this time.
"While I'm away for 6 months, I appeal to our fellow workers in the provincial capitol to let us conduct ourselves with integrity as we have important promises to fulfill to the people who have entrusted us with responsibilities during this time," Governor Erico Aris Aumentado expressed in his statement.
He further added, "Samtang gipa ilawom ako ug ang laing 68 ka mga opisyales sa probinsiya sa preventive suspension sulod sa unom ka bulan, akong hangyo sa mga kauban natong empleyado sa kapitolyo nga magtinarong ta sa atong trabaho. Ampingi ninyo ang atong mga saad sa katawhan ug padayon kita sa pagserbisyo luyo niining atong gisagubang nga dakung pagsulay karong panahona. Isalig nato ni tanan sa atong Labaw’ng Makagagahom. Daghang salamat."
[English Translation: "While I'm under preventive suspension along with the other 68 provincial officials for six months, I appeal to our fellow employees in the capitol to conduct ourselves with integrity in our work. Let's keep our promises to the people and continue serving despite the significant challenges we face at this time. Let us all trust in our Almighty. Thank you very much."]
