Former Governor Pryde Henry Teves is back in the political scene as he filed his candidacy for the province's top post on Friday, October 4. The scene at the provincial Commission on Elections (COMELEC) office in Dumaguete City was a lively one as Teves, along with his team from the Liberal Party, made his big move.

Teves didn’t show up alone. Dumaguete Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and other Liberal Party mates were by his side, showing their solid support. It seems that Teves, who previously served as the governor, is determined to make a strong comeback.

Pryde Henry Teves is the brother of expelled 3rd district representative Arnolfo "Arnie" Teves, whose political controversies have been making headlines. But despite the family drama, Pryde Henry is clearly looking to carve his own path back to the provincial capitol.

What can Negros Oriental expect if he wins? That’s still up in the air, but it’s certain that Pryde Henry’s return to the political arena will be closely watched by both supporters and critics alike.
