QCPD Officials File Charges Against VP Sara Duterte: A Heated Exchange Leads To Legal Action

Quezon City’s law enforcement is making headlines for more than just crime-fighting this week! On Wednesday, QCPD’s acting district director, Col. Melecio Buslig, teamed up with the medical and dental chief, Lt. Col. Van Jason Villamor, to file a formal complaint against none other than Vice President Sara Duterte and her staff.

The complaint, filed at the Quezon City prosecutor's office, cites direct assault, disobedience to authority, and grave coercion. But what led to this unusual turn of events?

It all started with the transfer of Duterte’s chief of staff, Zuleika Lopez, from the House of Representatives Detention Center to the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC). During the process, tensions allegedly ran high, with Buslig and Villamor claiming they faced verbal assaults and other forms of harassment.

The charges also rope in Col. Raymund Lachica from the Vice Presidential Security Protection Group. According to the QCPD officials, what should have been a straightforward operation turned into a heated confrontation, prompting them to take legal action.

While the Vice President’s camp has yet to issue a formal statement, this development is certainly raising eyebrows, with many wondering how this legal battle will unfold. Will it lead to a deeper investigation or a swift resolution?
