In a move to support communities reeling from Typhoon Katrina, former Congressman Arnel Ty, President of Republic Gas Corporation (REGASCO) and founder of the LPGMA Partylist, has announced a nationwide price freeze on REGASCO's LPG products. While the Department of Energy (DOE) identified specific calamity zones eligible for such a measure, Ty took the compassionate step to extend this freeze to all areas across the Philippines, offering much-needed relief to families far and wide.

Following a meeting with the DOE's Oil Industry Management Bureau (OIMB) and several key LPG offices, Ty made the call to broaden REGASCO’s aid beyond the DOE’s designated zones. “Our hearts go out to all those affected by Typhoon Katrina,” Ty shared. “This price freeze is one way we can help ease the burden, even for those who may not be in an official calamity zone but are still feeling the effects of this disaster.”

Ty emphasized the importance of keeping basic necessities affordable in trying times, especially LPG, which is a household staple. “When communities are in crisis, accessibility to essentials should never be a worry,” he explained. “This decision reflects our commitment to standing by our kababayans as they rebuild and recover.”

The freeze will remain in effect until November 15, a clear sign of REGASCO’s focus on prioritizing public welfare over profit in the wake of national adversity.
