BDO Clarifies Recent Passbook Incident; Verifies All Withdrawals As Valid

BDO Unibank Inc. has addressed the concerns raised by Mr. Gleen Cañete regarding discrepancies in his account withdrawals, which he shared on social media.

Following a detailed investigation, BDO confirmed that all transactions were conducted online by the accountholder and were validated as legitimate.

Mr. Cañete had initially reported unexpected withdrawals from his passbook, causing significant distress.

However, after reviewing the transactions, it was determined that they were indeed authorized by Mr. Cañete. He has since informed BDO that the matter will be handled within his family.

BDO emphasizes its commitment to the security and privacy of its clients' accounts, urging all customers to safeguard their account information.

As a financial institution regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), BDO assures the public of its adherence to stringent security protocols. Deposits at BDO are insured by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) up to PHP 500,000 per depositor.
