Nothing beats a warm bowl of lugaw, especially when it comes with a side of compassion. Senator Christopher "Bong" Go is once again proving that public service isn’t just about policies—it’s about showing up for the people.

Through his “Palugaw ni Mr. Malasakit” initiative, Senator Go has extended a helping hand to patients, their families, and medical frontliners across public hospitals nationwide. From February 1 to 6, the program reached various healthcare facilities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, offering not just free rice porridge but a strong message of support and solidarity.

More Than Just Lugaw—It’s Malasakit in Action

This initiative isn’t just about filling stomachs—it’s about reminding people that they’re not alone in their struggles. Whether it’s tired frontliners pulling long shifts or patients and their families going through tough times, a simple act of kindness can make a world of difference.

“We’re here not just to provide healthcare but to show compassion,” said Senator Bong Go, who chairs the Senate Committee on Health and Demography.

Hospitals in Navotas, Manila, Quezon City, Pampanga, Benguet, Iloilo, Leyte, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, and many more benefited from the feeding initiative. From small provincial hospitals to major medical centers, the senator’s team made sure that nobody was left behind.

A Bigger Mission: Holistic Healthcare for Filipinos

Senator Go’s commitment to healthcare goes beyond one-time food drives. His Malasakit Centers Act (RA 11463) has helped over 15 million Filipinos by making medical assistance more accessible nationwide. With 166 Malasakit Centers currently operational, financial aid for hospital bills has become easier for patients who need it most.

“Healthcare is more than just treatment—it’s about making people feel that someone cares,” Go emphasized.

“Serbisyo sa Tao, Serbisyo sa Diyos”

Dubbed “Mr. Malasakit”, Bong Go has made it his life’s work to be there for Filipinos in need.

“Patuloy akong magseserbisyo sa abot ng aking makakaya,” he said. “Ang malasakit ay dapat maramdaman ng bawat Pilipino.”

With initiatives like Palugaw ni Mr. Malasakit, Senator Go continues to show that a simple bowl of lugaw can mean so much more when it’s served with care, kindness, and malasakit.
