Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC), the infrastructure powerhouse of the Aboitiz Group, has once again proven that business success and community impact go hand in hand. Named one of Asia's Top Community-Centric Companies at the 2024 ACES Awards, AIC emerged victorious among 600 contenders from across the region.

The accolade shines a spotlight on AIC's innovative approach to integrating infrastructure development with community upliftment. By embedding community growth into its DNA, AIC is creating ecosystems that transform lives while fueling regional progress.

“Our growth is tied to the progress of our communities,” shared AIC President and CEO Cosette V. Canilao. “This recognition validates our shared-value approach, ensuring that as our developments prosper, so do the communities where we operate. We remain steadfast in our mission to touch more lives through infrastructure solutions.”

Spotlight on Impact: Talent Edge and Project Blue

The recognition specifically celebrates two flagship programs under AIC’s belt: Talent Edge and Project Blue, each making waves in their respective sectors.

Talent Edge: Creating Careers, Not Just Jobs

Talent Edge, the labor program of AIC Economic Estates, isn’t just about employment—it’s about empowering people. With nearly 2,000 hectares of industrial estates housing over 240 world-class companies, AIC has created opportunities for more than 100,000 individuals.

Through partnerships with academic institutions and tailored upskilling programs, Talent Edge bridges the gap between employers and job seekers, cultivating a skilled workforce ready to thrive in the modern economy.

Exciting plans are already underway to expand Talent Edge to TARI Estate in Tarlac, a 400-hectare development poised to generate over 60,000 jobs. Early community engagements, such as job fairs, have already attracted over 1,000 applicants, marking the program’s growing reach.

Project Blue: A Blueprint for Sustainable Water Access

Meanwhile, Project Blue, led by Apo Agua Infrastructura, Inc., is making waves in sustainable water solutions. As a partner of the Davao City Water District (DCWD), Apo Agua supplies clean water to over a million residents while setting the bar for public-private partnerships in the Philippines.

But Project Blue’s impact goes beyond pipelines. The program collaborates with local associations to ensure equitable access to water through rainwater catchment systems, supplementary pipelines, and training for long-term system management. Since 2022, it has empowered schools, households, and marginalized communities, proving that access to clean water transforms lives.

A Legacy of Excellence

Dr. Shanggari Balakrishnan, President of the ACES Awards, applauded AIC’s efforts, stating:
“Your innovative approach to community development, particularly through initiatives like Project Blue and Talent Edge, demonstrates a deep commitment to uplifting lives and fostering sustainable growth. This award is a testament to your exceptional efforts in setting new standards in community-centric sustainability.”

Global Recognition, Local Impact

The ACES Award adds to AIC’s growing list of accolades, including being named Most Innovative Infrastructure Company and receiving international recognition for leadership and investment excellence. Yet, at the heart of it all lies AIC’s mission: creating infrastructure ecosystems that not only meet today’s needs but foster prosperous, sustainable, and resilient communities for generations.

With its sights set on nationwide expansion, Aboitiz InfraCapital is proving that infrastructure is more than concrete and steel—it’s about building a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
