In the pool of competition at the Palarong Pambansa 2024 in Cebu City, one name shone brightly: Albert Jose Amaro II. This young swimmer from San Beda University CALABARZON not only clinched the gold but also shattered his own record in the 50M Butterfly event.

Clocking in at an impressive 25.25 seconds, Amaro left spectators awestruck as he surpassed his previous record of 26.14 seconds set just a year ago. "I am happy with myself because I know that I worked hard for what I have achieved today," Amaro shared, reflecting on his dedication and determination.

Amaro's journey in swimming began at the tender age of four, driven by what he initially thought was just a game. Today, it's clear that his passion has propelled him to new heights, including a recent bronze medal at the ASEAN School Games in Vietnam.

"My inspiration to achieve greater goals is, of course, God, my family, friends, and my team," Amaro emphasized, attributing his success to a strong support system that fuels his ambitions.
