In celebration of Women’s Month, Camille Villar has cemented her place among the country’s most influential female leaders, earning recognition for her unwavering commitment to empowering women and the youth.

At the Women’s Assembly 2025, held at the historic YWCA - FFPI Building in Manila last Saturday, Villar was honored alongside other powerhouse women for her role in shaping policies that benefit young Filipinos. The event gathered a distinguished roster of female leaders from the Philippines and the ASEAN region, all united in their mission to champion gender equality.

“As a millennial and a woman, I understand the challenges we face—not just in the workplace, but also in balancing our roles as wives, mothers, and leaders,” Villar shared. “It’s an honor to stand alongside these strong, influential women and the organizations that tirelessly push for women’s empowerment.”

For Villar, advocating for women’s welfare isn’t just a cause—it’s a lifelong commitment. She backed the 2025 Commitments and Action Plan, which aims to create a society where gender equality is the norm, not the exception. She also pledged to push for policies that protect women from discrimination and violence while ensuring access to education, economic opportunities, and reproductive healthcare.

Beyond her legislative work, Villar has spearheaded initiatives promoting financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and sports programs for the youth. She’s also championed maternal health projects, particularly for teenage mothers.

On Women’s Day (March 8), Villar joined the ranks of esteemed leaders such as former President and Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Associate Justice Marian Ivy Reyes Fajardo, Cecille Guidote Alvarez, Cory Quirino, Preciosa Soliven, and business mogul Teresita Sy-Coson. Her mother, Senator Cynthia Villar, was also among the notable figures at the event.

Villar expressed her gratitude to Dr. Nona Saldana-Ricafort, president of the YWCA Founders’ Federation of the Philippines, for convening the event. She also acknowledged other leaders from various women’s organizations, including Inner Wheel National President Ditas Crisostomo, Soroptimist International Philippines Governor Marivic DS Paras, and All Nation Women’s Group President Congresswoman Mila Magsaysay.

With over 20 women’s organizations coming together at the assembly, discussions centered on strengthening policies that promote women’s rights. Their goal? To craft a concrete action plan that could eventually be integrated into the Philippine Magna Carta for Women.

Villar’s recognition is a testament to the impact of women leaders in shaping the nation’s future—one policy, one initiative, and one empowered woman at a time.
