Manila was buzzing with excitement on August 19 as it welcomed home its very own two-time Olympic gold medalist, Carlo Edriel Yulo. Hailing from Leveriza, this Manileño made history at the Paris 2024 Olympics, and his city couldn't be prouder.

The Manila City Hall was packed with employees and visitors alike, all eager to catch a glimpse of the hometown hero. As Yulo entered the hall, he was greeted with cheers and applause, a testament to the immense pride his achievements have brought not just to Manila, but to the entire nation.

Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan, visibly beaming with pride, presented Yulo with a well-deserved incentive of 2 million pesos. This reward wasn't just for Yulo’s exceptional performance, but for the honor he has brought to the country as a whole.

In a heartfelt moment, Mayor Lacuna-Pangan and Vice Mayor Yul Servo Nieto signed a resolution declaring August 4th of every year as "Carlo Yulo Day" in Manila. This date holds special significance as it marks the day Yulo secured the Philippines' first-ever Olympic gold in gymnastics.
