Carlos Yulo, the two-time Olympic gold medalist, has finally broken his silence on the controversies surrounding his personal life, especially those involving his mother, Angelica Yulo, and his girlfriend, Chloe San Jose. In a candid TikTok video, Yulo addressed several misunderstandings and accusations that have surfaced recently.

Yulo started by clarifying the situation surrounding the incentives from the 2021 World Championships. According to him, there was confusion about the amount and timing of these incentives. He stated, "Ang 70k na sinasabi, hindi po iyon 70k lang. Ang totoo, anim na digit iyon dahil dalawang medalya ang nakuha ko.” He mentioned that he was unaware of his incentives being received by his mother until he returned to the Philippines. He had never received or asked for these incentives and was simply seeking clarity on their whereabouts.

He also responded to criticisms about Chloe, who has been judged harshly by his mother. Yulo explained that Chloe, who grew up in Australia, has a different cultural background. "Magkaiba po ng kinalakihan, at ibang-iba po talaga ang kultura sa Australia," he said. He defended Chloe against accusations that she might be draining his finances, stating that Chloe is financially independent and contributes to their expenses.

Addressing the claims about their training camp, Yulo refuted the notion that Chloe was unwelcome or that there were issues with their stay. He clarified that there was a miscommunication about the accommodation and that Chloe was indeed welcome. “Ang former coach ko nga po, nagulat pa nga siya na nandoon si Chloe,” he shared.

Yulo also tackled allegations regarding Chloe’s behavior and their personal boundaries. He emphasized that his family and Chloe had maintained respect for each other despite the tension. He shared screenshots of messages from Chloe apologizing for any perceived awkwardness during their meetings with his family.

The gymnast also addressed his mother’s comments about Chloe. "Nagsimula po ang hindi pagkakaintindihan dahil kay Chloe, kahit hindi pa po siya nakikilala," Yulo explained. He expressed disappointment over the disrespectful remarks and emphasized the importance of understanding and acceptance.

In closing, Yulo extended a heartfelt message to his mother. “Napatawad ko na kayo long time ago po. Pinagpi-pray ko na maging safe kayo palagi at nasa maayos kayong kalagayan diyan. Lahat tigilan na po natin ito at i-celebrate nalang po natin ang mga paghihirap at pagsasakripisyo ng bawat atletang Pilipino,” he said.
