As the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) enters its one-month holiday break, the Choco Mucho Flying Titans find themselves right in the middle of the pack with a 3-3 record. Tied with the Akari Chargers for sixth and seventh place, the Titans are taking this pause as an opportunity to regroup and strengthen their bond.

Head coach Dante Alinsunurin knows that to unlock the team's full potential in 2025, the key lies in fostering better team chemistry. “Syempre, yung as a team, as a whole kasi pabago-bago talaga kami ng players sa loob ng court. Kailangan talaga yung jelling ng team, siguro more team building pa, more team bonding pa para yung gusto namin ay iisa na lang,” Alinsunurin explained after their win against Farm Fresh on December 12.

The Flying Titans have had to adapt to player availability challenges early in the season. Setter Deanna Wong is out with a knee injury, Aduke Ogunsanya is recovering from an ACL injury, and Mean Mendrez has yet to make her season debut. On the brighter side, outside spiker Des Cheng has made a comeback, albeit in a limited role as a service specialist.

Despite the setbacks, Alinsunurin remains optimistic. “Sa ngayon, happy na rin ako sa naging sitwasyon namin. Sabi nga ng mga players ko, tatapusin namin ngayong taon na maganda para pagdating ng January, masarap mag-ensayo, maglaro,” he shared.

The month-long break is a chance for the team to heal and prepare for a stronger finish in the conference. Last season, the Flying Titans earned a silver medal after falling to the Creamline Cool Smashers in the finals. They're aiming to go one step further this time around.

As for the team's star, Sisi Rondina, she’s been a powerhouse on the court, leading the league in scoring with 134 points. Her performance has been crucial for Choco Mucho, and she'll undoubtedly be a key player as the team pushes for a return to the Finals.

The Flying Titans will be back in action on January 18, 2025, facing the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles at the Philsports Arena. With renewed focus and hopefully healthier players, Choco Mucho is determined to make a strong comeback and solidify their place among the top teams in the PVL.
