Dindin Santiago-Manabat has been on fire! The 6-foot-2 veteran is showing everyone she’s still got it as she powers Choco Mucho’s strong start in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.

Manabat has been on a roll, teaming up with ace spiker Sisi Rondina to fuel the Flying Titans’ three-game win streak. Their efforts have propelled the team to a 5-3 record, landing them in fifth place. Manabat’s recent standout performances earned her the honor of being named the first PVL Press Corps Player of the Week this year, covering January 18 to January 25.

And boy, did she deliver. Choco Mucho kicked off the year with a thrilling comeback win against ZUS Coffee on January 18, where Manabat dropped 19 points—including 15 kills and four blocks—to secure the 20-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-9 victory.

In their next game, she showed up big once again, scoring 16 points and making eight digs to help the Titans dominate PLDT, 21-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-18. Manabat was quick to dedicate her stellar play to teammate Kat Tolentino, who is recovering from surgery due to a ruptured appendix.

“Actually, I played for Kat today because she’s such an inspiration. She didn’t deserve what happened to her,” Manabat shared. “She’s so hardworking and kind. So my mindset was to win and follow coach’s system.”

At 31 years old, Manabat is proving age is just a number. Her standout performances put her ahead of other top players like Rondina, Creamline’s Jema Galanza, and Petro Gazz’s Myla Pablo for the weekly honor.

But for Manabat, it’s not just about the individual accolades. Her ultimate goal? To help Choco Mucho win their first-ever championship.

“I just want to help the team make history,” she said. “I trust coach Dante [Alinsunurin] so much. He never stops guiding us and reminding us to stay ready, work hard, and stick to the system.”

The Flying Titans are now gearing up for their next match against the Akari Chargers on February 8 at the Philsports Arena in Pasig. With Manabat leading the charge, Choco Mucho fans have every reason to be excited.
