DMW Cracks Down On Illegal Recruitment Of Aircraft Mechanics To The U.S.

Looks like the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) isn’t playing around when it comes to protecting Filipinos from illegal recruiters. On Friday, the agency shut down AEROSTRATEGIES INC., an unlicensed company that was allegedly luring aircraft mechanics with fake job offers in the United States.

Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac led the charge, ordering the firm’s closure after it was discovered operating without a proper license. The DMW’s Migrant Workers Protection Bureau (MWPB), together with local authorities, swooped in on the company’s office in Mabalacat City, Pampanga, putting a stop to its deceptive recruitment scheme.

Fake Promises, Big Risks

AEROSTRATEGIES INC. was reportedly promising mechanics a high-paying job in Texas, USA—boasting salaries of around $3,344 (PHP 193,500+). But here’s the catch: they didn’t have the authorization to send workers abroad. On top of that, their supposed Manila address? It turned out to be nothing more than a transient lodging house.

“We will not allow illegal recruiters to take advantage of our overseas applicants,” said Secretary Cacdac. “This firm deceived job seekers by misrepresenting itself as an aviation consultancy.”

What’s Next for the Firm?

The DMW isn’t stopping at just closing down the company. They’ve blacklisted its key officers, permanently barring them from any recruitment activities. Plus, they’re pushing for the cancellation of the company’s business permit and SEC registration. Legal action is also in the works to hold those responsible accountable.

For Victims, Help is Available

If you or someone you know has been affected by AEROSTRATEGIES INC., the DMW urges you to report your case through their official hotline (+63 2 8721-0619), email (mwpb@dmw.gov.ph), or Facebook page.

This serves as a strong reminder to all job seekers—always verify recruitment agencies with the DMW before engaging with them. Don’t fall for too-good-to-be-true offers, and make sure your overseas job hunt is safe and legal.
