The Department of Tourism (DOT) and AirAsia Philippines are joining forces to take Halal tourism to new heights. Yup, you read that right! This partnership is all about making sure Muslim travelers feel right at home when exploring the beautiful Philippines.

On a buzzing Thursday at the DOT Central Office in Makati City, Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco and AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricardo F. Isla made things official. They signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), setting the stage for AirAsia to roll out Halal-certified meals on all their flights. That means, wherever you're flying, you can look forward to delicious, certified Halal options!

But that's not all! DOT isn’t just sitting back. They're stepping up to provide special training to their workforce to ensure top-notch service for Muslim travelers. This collaboration crowns AirAsia Philippines as the country’s first DOT-recognized Muslim-friendly airline.

Tourism Undersecretary for Muslim Affairs and Mindanao Promotions, Myra Paz Valderrosa-Abubakar, and AirAsia's Santan Manager Pax Paloma were also there to witness this game-changing partnership.

So, pack your bags and get ready for an even more welcoming travel experience in the Philippines. The skies just got friendlier for everyone.
