EJ Obiena is back in action—and back on top. The Filipino pole vault star just snagged his first title of the 2025 indoor season at the Meeting Metz Moselle Athlelor in Metz, France.

Obiena cleared 5.70 meters, securing the win in just his second competition of the year. It was a tight battle, with Menno Vloon of the Netherlands also hitting the same height. But when it came down to the tiebreaker, Obiena had the edge, taking home the crown.

This victory is a solid start for the World No. 4 as he gears up for a big season ahead. With the Paris Olympics fast approaching, this win is a great confidence booster for the Filipino champion.
