With the 2025 elections just around the corner, a fresh Stratbase-SWS Pre-Election Survey conducted from January 17-20, 2025 , gives us a glimpse of the senatorial race. And guess what? Erwin Tulfo is leading the pack

Who’s on Top?

According to the survey, Tulfo (LAKAS) is the top choice among registered voters, securing 45% of intended votes. Following closely behind is Tito Sotto (NPC) with 38%, while Lito Lapid (NPC) and Bong Go (PDPLBN) are tied at 37% each.

Here’s how the top 10 candidates are stacking up:

• Erwin Tulfo (LAKAS) – 45%
• Tito Sotto (NPC) – 38%
• 3-4. Lito Lapid (NPC), Bong Go (PDPLBN) – 37%
• Ping Lacson (IND) – 35%

The Tight Race for the Last Two Spots

The battle for the 11th and 12th spots is intense, with Bong Revilla (LAKAS), Willie Revillame (IND), and Kiko Pangilinan (LP) all tied at 29%. Meanwhile, Imee Marcos (NP) sits at 28%, making her just outside the “Magic 12.”

Who’s Climbing the Ranks?

Some candidates have made significant gains compared to December 2024’s survey:

• Tito Sotto jumped from 5th place (31%) to 2nd (38%).
• Lito Lapid surged from 11th (23%) to 3rd (37%).

• Bato Dela Rosa rose from 12th-14th (21%) to 10th (30%).
• Kiko Pangilinan improved from 15th (20%) to 11th-13th (29%).

Who’s Struggling?

Outside the top contenders, names like Camille Villar, Bam Aquino, and Doc Willie Ong are still in the race but lagging behind. Meanwhile, some familiar names like Gringo Honasan, Benhur Abalos, and Francis Tolentino remain in the middle of the pack.

The Survey at a Glance

The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,800 registered voters nationwide, ensuring diverse representation:

• 300 from Metro Manila
• 900 from Luzon (outside Metro Manila)
• 300 from Visayas
• 300 from Mindanao

The margin of error is ±2.31% for the national level and ±5.66% for regional estimates.

What This Means for the 2025 Elections

With just a few months left before election day, these numbers show who’s gaining momentum and who needs to step up their campaign game. Will Tulfo maintain his lead? Can Imee Marcos break into the top 12? And will Willie Revillame turn his TV popularity into a Senate seat?

The race is far from over, and as campaign season heats up, anything can happen! Stay tuned!
