Tonight, November 7, 2024, some homes in Barangay Naddungan, Gattaran, Cagayan, are now underwater as heavy rains from Typhoon Marce cause the nearby river to overflow. According to Kimberly Pascual, a resident of the area, the rising river levels have been the main driver of this sudden flooding. "The water just kept rising. It’s been relentless," she shared, highlighting the community's struggle against the swift floodwaters.

On top of the flooding, power is also out in Barangay Naddungan as strong winds brought by Marce have downed lines, leaving residents in the dark amid the storm’s fury. The entire town of Gattaran is currently under Signal No. 4, as the typhoon continues to pack a powerful punch.

As of 7:00 PM, the eye of Typhoon Marce was located just over the coastal waters of Aparri, Cagayan. It’s moving west-northwest at a steady 10 km/h, but what’s most striking is Marce’s immense wind field, with gusts extending up to 560 kilometers from its center. This range means a large portion of Northern Luzon is feeling the impact, with strong winds, torrential rain, and, in many cases, flooding.

With Marce’s path and power, residents across Cagayan Valley are urged to stay indoors, remain vigilant, and keep an eye on further weather updates. As the evening progresses, authorities are closely monitoring the situation and providing support to affected areas.
