Jake Jarman, the British gymnast who recently clinched a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, has a special connection to the Philippines that many might not know. His former preschool teacher, Ms. Anne Gallo-Sim, recently shared a touching throwback photo and a heartfelt letter, taking us back to when Jake was just a bundle of energy in her classroom in Cebu.

In her note, Ms. Anne reminisces about Jake’s early years at Sage & Cambridge in Lahug. She writes:

"LETTER FROM A TEACHER TO AN OLYMPIC BRONZE MEDALLIST:

Dear Jake,

Remember those days in Sage & Cambridge (Lahug) Cebu preschool? Back then, you were always full of energy packed in a petite frame. But your mind and heart were b-i-i-i-g beyond measure.

I am so proud of you! Keep up your hard work and achievements!

Love,
Ms. Anne Gallo-Sim
Your former Preschool Teacher"**

The letter perfectly captures the pride and affection Ms. Anne feels for her former student, who has now made a mark on the global stage. It’s a beautiful reminder of how early influences and encouragement can shape extraordinary journeys. Congratulations to Jake Jarman, and a heartfelt thanks to Ms. Anne for sharing this lovely piece of their shared history!
