Ginebra Reeling From Game 5 Loss, But Coach Tim Cone Says 'It's Just One Game' As Focus Shifts To Game 6 Showdown

In one of the toughest losses Barangay Ginebra has faced in recent PBA finals history, the Kings went down 99-72 to the TNT Tropang Giga in Game 5, leaving their fans and players with a sting they won’t forget soon. But even with this 27-point blowout hanging over them, head coach Tim Cone is determined not to dwell on it as they gear up for the crucial Game 6.

With the best-of-seven series now at 3-2 in TNT's favor, Coach Tim Cone spoke candidly about the blow, saying, "I know our fans feel bad about it; everybody feels bad, the team feels bad. But the bottom line is, it's just one game in the series. It could have happened in Game 1 or Game 2, or Game 3." For Cone, it’s about brushing off the loss and regrouping to keep the series alive.

Looking ahead, Ginebra is well aware of the challenge: they’ll need to win back-to-back games to reclaim the title they lost to TNT last year. Game 6 will be a test of Ginebra’s famous “never-say-die” spirit, as they look to stay alive in front of what’s sure to be another electrifying crowd.

As Cone put it, "Now our backs are to the wall, and we have to come out with a little bit of desperation in Game 6."

Game 6 tips off Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, with a potential winner-takes-all Game 7 waiting at the Ynares Center in Antipolo on Sunday. Ginebra fans, it’s all hands on deck—Friday is sure to be a game no one will want to miss!
