The Philippine government is stepping up its fight against online scams and disinformation. The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) and the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) have officially teamed up by signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to strengthen efforts in keeping Filipinos safe online.

As part of this initiative, Hotline 1326 has been recognized as the official national anti-scam hotline, making it easier for victims to report fraudulent activities. The eGovPH app will also be upgraded with a new e-report function, allowing users to report scams directly from their phones.

Beyond reporting, the partnership will focus on educating the public about online scams, deepfakes, and disinformation through awareness campaigns. The government will also collaborate with experts, including Scam Watch Pilipinas, a national cybersecurity movement dedicated to fighting digital fraud.

With online threats becoming more sophisticated, this move aims to empower Filipinos with the right tools and knowledge to stay protected. So, if you ever encounter a suspicious message or scam attempt, remember—help is just a call or a click away.
