'Harry Roque Left PH Illegally,' Immigration Chief Says
Screengrab from Harry Roque
Former Presidential Spokesperson Herminio “Harry” Roque Jr. is in hot water with the Bureau of Immigration (BI). Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado dropped a bombshell, saying Roque likely sneaked out of the country through illegal means.

BI records show Roque hasn’t officially left the Philippines since returning from Los Angeles last July. “Flight is an evidence of guilt,” Viado said, hinting at Roque’s possible collusion with shady characters to bypass formal immigration processes.

Roque recently submitted a counter-affidavit on a qualified human trafficking case that was notarized in Abu Dhabi. Viado suspects Roque falsified immigration documents to pull this off and revealed that his team is now exploring additional charges, including falsification of public documents.

“It’s impossible that he left via formal ports,” Viado stated firmly, pointing out Roque’s inclusion in the BI’s Lookout Bulletin. “He is a very well-known public figure. You can spot him miles away.”

The BI chief also emphasized that major international airports are tightly monitored with CCTVs, making it highly unlikely Roque slipped through unnoticed. Viado said they’re working closely with the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi to gather more details about Roque’s travels.

Roque’s Side of the Story

Meanwhile, Roque isn’t backing down. He took to social media, asserting that the arrest order against him was unconstitutional.
“Ako ay naninindigan na ang arrest order ng Quad Committee ay labag sa ating Saligang Batas at ipaglalaban ko po ang aking karapatang pantao,” he said.

He also reminded his followers of his long-standing fight for human rights, adding, “Thirty-four years na po ako nakikipaglaban sa karapatang pantao ng iba. Bakit hindi ko naman paninindigan ang sarili kong karapatan?”

Roque further clarified that no hold departure order has been issued against him. “Wala po akong hold departure order. Walang korte na nagbabawal sa aking kalayaan,” he said.

What’s Next?

This saga is far from over. With Viado’s team digging deeper and Roque standing his ground, this case is shaping up to be one for the books. Let’s see how this unfolds—stay tuned.
