Heads Up: Access Issues With EDU.PH Websites Affecting Schools Nationwide

Hey there, students, teachers, and everyone trying to connect to school websites under the .edu.ph domain. If you've been scratching your head wondering why you can't access your university’s website or portals, here’s what’s up.

There’s currently an issue with PHNet, the organization managing all .edu.ph domain names. This problem has caused disruptions for several educational institutions, including the University of the Philippines (UP), University of Santo Tomas (UST), University of the East (UE), Universidad de Manila (UDM), and National University
(NU), among others.

What's Happening?

For now, it seems users are having trouble accessing school websites and online portals like UST’s MyUSTe or UDM’s student portal. Globe and Smart users are particularly affected, but don’t worry—your school’s online systems are still intact! The issue is with the domain's DNS services, not the platforms themselves.

What Are Schools Doing?

Here’s how some universities are handling the situation:

• UP: Waiting for PHNet to resolve the issue and will release updates as soon as possible.
• UST: Advises students and staff to use their direct Cloud Campus link or reach out via email and social media for urgent matters.
• UE: Canvas and email services are still working. The university assures users that they’re actively working on the issue.
• UDM: The ICT office is in constant communication with PHNet and promises to keep everyone updated.
• NU: Assures the public that they’re coordinating with PHNet to resolve the problem ASAP.

What You Can Do for Now

While waiting for things to get back to normal, schools are urging students, faculty, and staff to stay connected via:

• Social media accounts
• Official email addresses
• Alternative direct links to learning platforms like Canvas

A Little Patience Goes a Long Way

While this might be frustrating, rest assured that your schools are on top of the situation and working with PHNet to get everything sorted. Keep an eye out for advisories from your institution for updates.

Until then, take a breather—you’ve got this!
