Joanie Delgaco, our trailblazing Filipina rower at the Paris 2024 Olympics, gave it her all but narrowly missed out on advancing to the semifinals in the Women’s Single Sculls event. With a fierce determination, Joanie powered through the quarterfinals but fell just short, finishing in 6th place with a time of 7:58.30.

This marks a significant milestone as Delgaco is the first Filipina to compete in rowing at the Olympics, and her performance has been nothing short of inspiring. Her result means she’s now headed to the Classification Race for Semifinals C/D, which will be held tomorrow, July 31.

Despite the setback, Joanie's journey isn’t over yet. Her relentless spirit and dedication to the sport have already made us proud.
