The Land Transportation Office (LTO) isn’t letting a reckless motorcycle stunt slide—especially after it ended in a fatal accident. A motorcycle rider who pulled off a dangerous “Superman stunt” along Marilaque Road in Tanay, Rizal, is now facing serious consequences after his fellow rider lost his life in the crash.
The viral video of the incident caught the attention of LTO Chief Atty. Vigor Mendoza II, who confirmed that a Show Cause Order (SCO) has been sent to the rider’s home in Lipa City, Batangas. The summons requires him to explain why he shouldn’t face penalties for reckless driving.

“This Could Have Been Prevented”

“I personally saw the video, and although it was really tragic, that could have not happened if they just chose to be responsible motorcycle riders,” Mendoza said.

He emphasized that the hearing will allow the rider to explain his side, but reminded him that what’s at stake is not just a punishment—it’s his government-given privilege to operate a motorcycle.

Reckless Stunt, Real Consequences

Mendoza pointed out that the stunt wasn’t just risky for the rider and his companion—it caused injuries to at least six other road users.

According to the SCO signed by LTO-CALABARZON Regional Director Elmer Decena, the rider, who is also a motovlogger, was identified as one of the two individuals who “recklessly or without reasonable caution and regard for the safety of others performed unsafe maneuvers.”

The rider has five days to submit a response under oath explaining why he shouldn’t face administrative charges or lose his license altogether. If he fails to respond, the LTO will proceed with the case using the evidence on hand.
