Big news for supporters of Maddie Madayag. The rising star and standout middle blocker from the Philippine national team is set to make her international debut with the Kurobe Aqua Fairies in Japan’s top-tier league for the 2024-25 season. How exciting is that?

The Choco Mucho Flying Titans, where Maddie has been a key player, shared the news on Monday, and it’s all systems go for her new adventure. Maddie, who’s known for her impressive performance and was named Best Middle Blocker in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference, will kick off her stint with the Aqua Fairies on October 13, facing off against the SAGA Hisamitsu Springs.

This international opportunity means she’ll be missing out on the All-Filipino Conference with the Flying Titans. Despite this, the team is nothing but supportive. They’ve cheered her on, saying, “We’re incredibly proud of you, Maddie, for seizing this amazing opportunity in your career. Your Choco Mucho Flying Titans fam is with you every step of the way. We can’t wait to welcome you back stronger than ever!”

While Maddie is off to make waves in Japan, Choco Mucho will be looking to fill her shoes with Cherry Nunag, Maika Ortiz, Lut Malaluan, and Lorraine Pecaña. The Aqua Fairies are coming off a challenging season, finishing 11th out of 12 teams, so Maddie’s addition is sure to be a game-changer.
