In a heartwarming gesture of gratitude, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. extended his sincere thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for their generous pardon of 220 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). This act of clemency came as part of the 53rd National Day celebrations of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The tradition of granting pardons during the UAE’s National Day is a long-standing practice, reflecting the country's spirit of forgiveness and compassion. President Marcos, through a meaningful representation, conveyed his appreciation for this humanitarian act, which not only uplifts the lives of the pardoned individuals but also strengthens the bonds between the Philippines and the UAE.
