Heads up, Meralco users. You’ll be seeing a slight drop in your electricity bills this October. Meralco just announced that they’re lowering the power rate by P0.3587 per kilowatt-hour (kWh). For households that consume around 200 kWh per month, this translates to a savings of about P72.

So, what’s behind this price drop? The lower charge is thanks to reductions in generation and transmission charges, as well as taxes and other miscellaneous fees.

However, there’s no change in Meralco's distribution charge, but the overall reduction should still give some relief to consumers. Looks like it’s going to be a lighter month for your electricity bill.
