The race for the 2025 Senate elections is already heating up, and if the latest OCTA Research survey is any indication, familiar names are leading the pack. The survey, conducted from January 25 to 31, 2025, asked 1,200 respondents nationwide who they would likely vote for as senator if the elections were held today. Each respondent could pick up to 12 names, and with a 3% margin of error, here’s how things are shaping up.

Tulfo Brothers on Top

It’s a Tulfo takeover at the top of the rankings, with Erwin Tulfo securing the number one spot with a commanding 70% of respondents selecting him. Not far behind is his brother Ben Tulfo, who landed in the second to third spot with 60%. Clearly, the Tulfo brand remains a dominant force in Philippine politics.

Bong Go Still Strong, Tito Sotto in the Mix

Senator Bong Go (58%) continues to enjoy strong support, placing second to fourth, showing that his close ties with former President Duterte still resonate with voters. Meanwhile, veteran politician Tito Sotto (52%) is sitting comfortably in the third to eighth range, proving that name recall and years of public service still hold weight.

Revilla, Revillame, and Pacquiao in the Game

The list also includes Bong Revilla (49%), Willie Revillame (48%), and Ping Lacson (48%), all tied within the fourth to 11th range. Willie Revillame’s inclusion is particularly interesting, as his popularity as a TV host and philanthropist might be translating into political support. Meanwhile, boxing legend Manny Pacquiao (45%) is still in contention, ranking fifth to 12th—a sign that his influence hasn’t faded despite past political setbacks.

Imee Marcos, Lito Lapid, and Benhur Abalos in the Midfield

Senator Imee Marcos (44%), Lito Lapid (43%), and Benhur Abalos (39%) are also showing solid numbers, positioning themselves in the upper half of the rankings. Their political clout and past experience seem to be keeping them in the race.

Kiko Pangilinan, Bam Aquino, and Honasan in the Lower Rankings

Notable names like Kiko Pangilinan (28%), Gringo Honasan (26%), and Bam Aquino (22%) are further down the list, which could indicate they need to ramp up their campaigns to boost their chances. Meanwhile, Apollo Quiboloy sits near the bottom with only 5%, showing that his legal controversies may have impacted his political appeal.

What’s Next?

These numbers could shift dramatically as campaigns heat up and new candidates emerge. However, one thing is clear—political dynasties, media personalities, and seasoned lawmakers are still shaping the Senate race. Will Willie Revillame make a serious push? Can Pacquiao regain momentum? Will the Tulfo brothers maintain their lead?

As the 2025 elections approach, expect more surprises, shifting alliances, and campaign drama.
