In a significant development this morning, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and his co-accused entered a "not guilty" plea at the Pasig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 159. The case, which involves serious allegations of qualified human trafficking, has garnered considerable attention.

Atty. Israelito Torreon, Pastor Quiboloy's legal counsel, confirmed the plea but refrained from providing additional details out of respect for the court's authority. The first trial date has been set for October 20, and Quiboloy is expected to appear in person.

Meanwhile, Quiboloy will be transferred to the PNP Custodial Facility in Camp Crame, while his four co-accused—Jackielyn Roy, Cresente Canada, Ingrid Canada, and Sylvia Cemañes—will be held at the BJMP Pasig facility. BJMP Spokesperson KCInsp. Jayrex Bustinera assured that there are no security risks associated with the four.

Later today, Quiboloy and his co-accused will also face charges of child and sexual abuse in a video conference hearing at the Quezon City RTC Branch 106.

Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros, commenting on the proceedings, emphasized the importance of holding Quiboloy accountable. "It is only right for Apollo Quiboloy to face the law. He and his co-accused have caused unspeakable pain to women, children, and the most vulnerable," she stated. Hontiveros, who chairs the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality, is preparing for the next public hearing on these abuses and hopes for more witnesses to come forward.
